El Rancherito - This is the most welcoming SFV taco stop yet. Orders were taken with a smile and a feeling that El Rancherito staff cares about their customers. Table conversation battles against the Spanish soaps blaring from three televisions, but who cares with tacos this good. Out of chicken, carnitas, and beef tacos - the chicken were the best with the beef bringing up a close second. Try them dorado (crispy) style!

Things to look forward to tomorrow: Eating the “Best tacos in America” (Bon Appetit), flying back to LA, contemplating making puffy tacos.
My mom’s family was raised in Laredo, Texas. I learned from my uncle today that while most of the nation considers a Mariachi a musician, people in Laredo also call a flour-tortilla taco a mariachi.
